Du’a for the Last Friday of Ramadan
Question
Question Jabir ibn ‘Abdillah (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported: I visited the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) on the last Friday of Ramadan. When he saw me, he said: “O Jabir, this is the last Friday of Ramadan, so bid it farewell by saying the following:” اللهم لا تجعله آخر العهد من صيامنا إياه، فإن جعلتَه فاجعلني مرحومًا، ولا تجعلني محرومًا O Allah, do not make it the last of our fasting of this month. But if you decree so, then make me among those who receive Your mercy, and do not make me among those who are deprived. Reward: Whoever recites this supplication will attain one of two good outcomes: either reaching the next Ramadan or receiving the forgiveness and mercy of Allah.
Answer
I have not come across this in any primary or secondary Hadith source. Some contemporaries have located this in the books of the Shi’ah. The narration should not be quoted until it can be sourced and then verified. And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
